Meet Sara

SARA (ROSARIA) FURLANO

Sara (Rosaria) Furlano is currently a Master’s-level practicum student at Silm Centre for Mental Health under the supervision of Dr. Taslim Alani-Verjee, C.Psych. She is in her second year of the Master’s in Psychology program at Adler Graduate Professional School.

Sara holds a Master’s and PhD in Developmental Psychology from Queen’s University and recently returned to school to pursue a career in direct clinical practice.

Sara takes a collaborative and integrative approach to therapy and draws on evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She is interested in helping clients make sense of their experiences and better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours influence each other. Her approach combines both compassion and curiosity to help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves while building skills to help them manage stress and navigate difficult emotions. Sara strives to create a supportive and non-judgmental space where clients can feel understood and respected.

Outside of her clinical work, Sara enjoys trying new recipes, travelling, and spending
time with her family.
